Tony is Project Manager for the ReLiB project hat is focused on developing systems for the sustainable management of batteries from Electric Vehicles.
Tony studied extractive metallurgy and mineral processing in the UK and USA winning awards from British Steel, the Society for Underwater Technology and the Sydney Gilchrist Thomas medal. He then worked on mines, concentrators, smelters, refineries and recycling, for more than 25 years.
This experience was utilised for the design,deployment and operation of a wide range of material processing plants in more than 35 countries. Since 2006 Tony has worked on the optimisation of material supply chains through innovation activities, at Birmingham, Leicester and Oxford Universities, and the KTN. He is a member of the team that developed & supports the £16 million ‘Security of Supply of Mineral Resources” R&D programme. Tony has also facilitated the engagement of British organisations in EU projects and programmes.
